Content Ranking and Display Criteria

This page publishes the criteria Alomi uses when sorting and suggesting stories on the home page, the Explore page and in-app search results.

Updated: 7/8/2026

General principle

All stories on Alomi are provided by Alomi or created by users on the platform. Alomi has no third-party sellers and does not sell placement or accept payment to boost ranking for any content.

Story list ranking criteria

The display order of stories in the main lists is determined by the following criteria, in order of priority:

  • User engagement: the actual number of likes a story has received on the platform.
  • Publication time: when stories have equal engagement, more recently published stories are shown first.

Search result criteria

For searches, Alomi filters results by keyword relevance, matching the query against the story title and short description. Users can combine this with a category filter to narrow results.

Curated content

Some showcase slots on the home page display stories selected manually by the Alomi team to highlight new content or an active theme. These slots are editorially curated, are not algorithmic and are not paid advertising.

Criteria not used

Alomi does not currently use an individual user's interaction history to personalise story ordering. If Alomi adopts new criteria in the future, this page will be updated before they take effect.
